Senior Business Systems Analyst

• Location: Durham Region
• Salary Scale: $70,000.00 to $85,000.00

Our client has an immediate requirement for a Senior Business Systems Analyst.  This is full-time career position is located within the Region of Durham and will require you to lead complex systems development projects by providing business and systems analysis as well as client liaison IT support. 

Specific responsibilities involved are to include:

1. Lead the inception, definition and implementation of complex business systems.
2. Define and document client/stakeholder business needs, translating them into systems solutions within Platform Systems/Technology Infrastructure units.
3. Establish functional system and database requirements, including the development of use cases.
4. Identify and document IT requirements critical to achieving business objectives, including the identification of impacts, issues or gaps in technology.
5. Lead system functional testing including planning, definition and execution against business requirements, including the development of User Acceptance Test (UAT) planning and related activity coordination.
6. Establish collaborative and sustainable partnerships with clients and provide formal and informal coaching, mentoring and technical guidance to colleagues.
7. Participate in the business transition of new program/project requirements into user environment.
8. Facilitate post implementation evaluations to ensure all objectives are met.

Requirements & Qualifications:

Candidates to meet consideration will have the following skill sets and experience:

• Demonstrated research, analytical and systems development skills as they relate to defining and implementing complex business/software solutions.
• Demonstrated experience in systems analysis and project management.
• Proven experience leading the inception, elaboration, implementation & transition phases of a system development life cycle within a complex business environment.
• Understanding of QA test methodologies and technical experience in manual and automated functional testing.
• Strong coaching and mentoring experience in business domain knowledge, systems development lifecycle and technical systems analysis.
• Excellent communication (verbal and written), time management, prioritization and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated experience working with a multi disciplinary team of professionals within a software development environment.
• Experience with the following technologies is highly desirable: MS Office, Rational ClearQuest, Rational Requisite Pro, Rational Robot, Visual SourceSafe, Visio Project Professional, Remedy, Java Enterprise stack, Web/Application/Portal servers, Web Services, Oracle Databases, Reporting Engines and  XML.
• Experience using the Rational Unified Process methodology would be a strong asset.
